The 2008 Tony Awards were announced Sunday, June 15 on the stage of Radio City Musical Hall in New York City. The Pulitzer Prize winning new play, August: Osage County which will kick off its national tour in San Francisco, won five Tony Awards including Best Play, Best Director, Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Play, Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Play, and Best Scenic Design of a Play.
